    VR6 Loud timing chain [VIDEOS]

Hey guys, replaced my tensioner bolt and tensioner rail late last year and I hearing this:
    vr6 idle chains

I've listened to other vr6's on youtube and they all sound a bit different as mine is that constant chh chh chh that you can hear very clearly from 0:18 and on. It can be heard from about 10m away and only starts when it's warmed up.

I'm asking here because I don't wanna buy a whole timing chain kit since I already got the bolt and upper rail last year so they could be fine and I also heard it's rarely the chains that fail. It's not the inconsistent rattling of a broken guide that I've heard from other videos.

Here's a video with the oil cap off vr6 idle cams

Also on a side note, are my injectors ticking louder than they should at 0:15 on the first video?

    thanks guys

    Didn't see the videos.

But. I had a ticking noise when my oiled warmed up to.

It could be your lifters or, it couldn't be the tensioner loosing pressure, releasing tension on the chains and causing them to Tick. In my case, the tick was heard on the drivers side more than the passenger side. Hence the suspicion of lifters.

just to be clear, my main concern is the first video at 0:18 the loud chh chh chh from the chains. The ticking is definitely from the fuel rail but it just seems abnormally loud to me.

Sound near the end of the video that sounds like a rattle can/maracas type deal?

Could be pieces of the plastic guides moving around in the engine.

My guides had been completely destroyed by the chains and were found in the sump and through the oil pan. I would get it checked out.
